One-Pot Multicomponent Synthesis of Allyl and Alkylamines Using a Catalytic System Composed of Ruthenium Nanoparticles on Copper <i>N</i>-Heterocyclic Carbene-Modified Silica

The integrated one-pot synthesis of valuable allylamines and alkylamines from amines, formaldehyde, terminal alkynes is achieved using a single catalyst material. This multifunctional catalytic system composed silica support on which are jointly assembled ruthenium nanoparticles covalently functionalized copper N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes, introducing new generation immobilized molecularly modified surfaces. textural, structural, morphological, electronic properties the resulting Ru@SiO2-[Cu-NHC] material were studied by variety techniques including N2 adsorption, solid-state NMR, electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. was found active selective for wide range alkylamines, products great importance in fine chemical pharmaceutical industry. Detailed investigations evidenced that molecular Cu(I)–NHC complex responsible atom-efficient A3 coupling alkynes, while hydrogenation propargyl amines catalyzed Ru(0) nanoparticles. design strategy preparation method to combine nanoparticle sites flexible, opening way development systems capable performing reaction sequences one pot.
